What is TriStone?

TriStone 100% Acrylic Solid Surface is the ideal benchtop material, composed of high-performance acrylic resins and natural minerals to enhance its appearance and performance. The consistent colours and patterns, which run all the way through the material cannot wear away, and allows any damage to be easily repaired to its original condition. TriStone products are non-porous and NSF-51 Certified for Food preparation area. This means it’s hygienic by warding off mildew, bacteria and other harmful germs. Additionally, inconspicuous seams, integrated sinks, bowls and covered back splashes make TriStone the perfect choice for both residential and commercial applications.

  • What is TriStone made of?

    TriStone 100% Acrylic Solid Surface is made of Methyl Methacrylate (MMA) and Poly Methyl Methacrylate (PMMA) resin filled with Alumina-Trihydrate and other specialized material to ensure it’s timeless beauty and quality.

  • Is TriStone repairable?

    TriStone does not have laminating or coating on its surface, making it a very adaptable and forgiving material. The nonporous surface can easily be renewed from damages, and restored to it’s original finish.

  • How do I clean and take care of my TriStone benchtop?

    TriStone 100% Acrylic Solid Surface is easy to clean and maintain from everyday stains and scratches. Routine care using water and household cleansers will restore the surfaces. Please download the Care Guide for more information.

  • What is NSF and why is it important to me?

    According to the NSF web site:

    “No other independent testing programs require companies to comply with the strict standards imposed by NSF and its product certification programs. From extensive product testing and material analyses to unannounced plant inspections, NSF is the only third-party testing organization to undertake a complete evaluation of every aspect of a product’s development before it can earn our certification.”

    NSF Certification for Food Preparation Areas is one of the many certifications and testing TriStone goes through to make sure the safety of the material for the consumers.   • Who can fabricate and install my TriStone benchtop?

    To ensure proper fabrication, installation, and warranty coverage, TriStone is only available to certified fabricators. Contact your local fabricator for more details.

  • Who can repair or refinish my TriStone benchtop?

    Minor scratches and damages can be easily repaired using water and household cleansers mentioned in the Care Guide section. For deep scratches and major damages which may require expert repair, please contact your local Authorized TriStone Repair Agent.

  • What do I do with the small sample material left after my installation of TriStone?

    It is our policy for fabricators to leave colour-matched materials at the job site with the customers. These materials can be used for future repair. Please keep these colour matched materials for future use.

  • Are there different finishes in TriStone?

    TriStone Solid Surfaces have two finishes – Matte and Semi-gloss. Different colours may require more maintenance according to the finish. Consult with your fabricator, distributor, or sales representative for recommendations. Alternatively, take a look at the TriStone Colour range.

  • Tell me more about heat-resistance properties of TriStone.

    TriStone Solid Surfaces has excellent heat resistant properties compared to other well-known surfacing materials. The surface can still be damaged if heat-generating household appliances are directly placed on top of it. Avoid direct and indirect heat with temperatures over 80°C (170°F). Always use trivets with rubber feet when placing hot items on the benchtop. To learn more, consult our Care Guide.

  • What are the advantages of TriStone over Granite benchtops?

    Granite is often used on many of our benchtops but due to its innate characteristics, it has some disadvantages. Granite surfaces must be professionally sealed. If not properly sealed, it can be easily stained and hold bacteria and other germs through its porous surface. Granite surfaces also have visible seams, thus showing imperfections. TriStone is non-porous, stain resistant, and has no visible seams.

  • What are the advantages of TriStone over Laminate benchtops?

    Like the name states, Laminates are pressed paper glued to some type of wood base. Over time, due to moisture and loss of adhesiveness of the glue, the laminates tend to peel off and / or chip off.
    TriStone is non-porous, solid homogeneous material that has one of the lowest water absorption rates in the industry. Combined with TriStone’s ideal hygienic features and reparability, there are limitless possible applications.

  • What are the advantages of TriStone over Tile benchtops?

    TriStone Solid Surfaces can be fabricated and installed in almost any application with inconspicuous seams. Also TriStone Solid Surfaces are durable and completely renewable if damaged. Removing minor cuts and scrateches is simple using household cleansers and water. Tiles have grouts that collect dirt and germs. Also, tile surfaces scratch and damage easily by everyday appliances.
